A SUPBERB 19THC WALNUT PEDESTAL DESK
A SUPERB 19th C WALNUT PEDESTAL DESK Of perfect small proportions, a mid 19th c walnut veneered and mahogany lined pedestal desk in original and excellent condition, with the makers' name stamped on the writing slope "S Topliss & Sons, Upholsterers, 6 Berners Street, Oxford Street, London W". The writing slope is an accessory for the desk and can be stored separately. Both the desk top and the slope are covered in the original black Moroccan hide which is in wonderful condition, tooled with a discreet motif to each corner. The desk is panelled to the sides and back and can be used in the centre of the room, and stands on castors. The walnut is figured with matched veneers to each drawer front. All original locks in place and drawers run the full width of the desk.
